WEBINAR - Are we responding fast enough to contain COPD?

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) has become the third cause of casualties in the #world. India is experiencing a continued increase in the burden of #COPD. Though India has the national program for early #diagnosis and #management of COPD using safe and effective #medicines and #inhalers, however, there are significant gaps observed in the #healthcare delivery and #clinical approach to the management of COPD and other airway diseases, particularly #primarycare level. Above all, the #COVID19 #pandemic has put patients with COPD and other #comorbidities at high risk for poor outcomes. Hence, there is a need to focus on empowering and engaging individuals with COPD and their families about preventive steps to lead meaningful and productive lives with COPD during this challenging #global crisis.

International Institute for Human Development jointly with Indian Association of Respiratory Care (IARC) has taken the initiative to organize a live deliberation amongst #pulmonologists, #anesthesiologists, #respiratorytherapists, #patients/caregivers, and #policymakers about why India is not responding fast enough to the challenge of containing #COPD?
